DERELICT

DERELICT is an award-winning, fictional short film that explores the impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on ex-servicemen and women and their families. Written by Dave Jeffery, the story follows the tragic social slide of protagonist Graham Andrews (Graham Woodward) and how he copes with the terrible results of his combat experiences.

The story originated from Carl Braid and was shaped into a study of PTSD by Dave Jeffery and James Hart who have extensive experience of working in mental healthcare. It is hoped that DERELICT will be completed in summer, ready for festivals. The film will also be donated to the charities Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion.

BAD MEDICINE INDIEGOGO PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

August 27th 2014

Birmingham-based film company, Venomous Little Man (“VLM”) are looking for investors for their next project, as they prepare to shoot and produce their next motion picture.

Bad Medicine is a feature length, psychological horror film. It takes place in a mental health ward during a therapy session, where the participants tell their individual stories of the horrific and shocking events that led them to be where they are now. The film is a horror portmanteau featuring five short films bound together by a wrap-around story.

With filming scheduled to start in December 2014 in and around Birmingham, “Bad Medicine” was written by Amazon #1 bestselling horror author DAVE JEFFERY, and is the follow-up to the highly successful “Ascension”, which scooped the “Best Director” gong at the 2013 Bram Stoker Film Festival for JAMES HART.

It is no coincidence that some of the actors who worked on VLM’s previous film have not hesitated to sign up again for this next thrilling project. Based on the praise that “Ascension” received, they have all jumped at the chance to be part of what promises to be another “scarily-good” film.

Both Jeffery and Hart have enlisted a seasoned, stellar cast for “Bad Medicine”, which includes BARBIE WILDE (HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, GRIZZLY II), DEREK MELLING, (ASCENSION, INBRED, THE ELECTRICIAN), LAURENCE SAUNDERS (ASCENSION, DEADTIME, THE SEASONING HOUSE, THE VILLAGE, EASTENDERS, DOCTORS), MARK RATHBONE (ASCENSION, INBRED, CRADLE OF FEAR) and TIM DRY (XTRO, RETURN OF THE JEDI).

“Bad Medicine” will be edited by Richard O’Connor. As the prime editor on award-winning “Ascension”, O’Connor has extensive experience in lighting and stage design and an impressive history in theatre.

VLM are looking for investors to help raise the £35,000 it will cost to fund the production of the film. Investment can start from as little as £1, although bigger outlay will understandably result in greater rewards. The funds will go to cast and crew fees, special creature FX and editing/sound design. Every person or organisation who donates will receive something for their commitment – from a special mention on the credit list of the final movie to VIP tickets to the first screenings, or an opportunity to meet the entire cast and crew at the premiere after-party, or a Producer credit. The INDIEGOGO campaign will launch on SUNDAY, 31st AUGUST and run for 60 days.

Six Feet Under

"Frightfest, Horror Channel and Movie Mogul CHALLENGE YOU to make a short horror film following 6 killer restraints."

That was the challenge set to many film makers around the UK, one which Venomous Little Man could not resist. Having finished filming at the end of January and post production drawing to a close, the team decided to create and film a story for the competition.

The rules were;

Choose a pre-set theme (VLM chose Six Feet Under) maximum running time 6x 30 seconds (That’s 3 minutes!), maximum lines of dialogue – 6, maximum hours of shooting time – 6, maximum budget – £666, maximum cast – 6, maximum crew members – 6 (including post)

The story submitted by VLM features Ascension star Mark Rathbone as Footlocker, a man who at first seems normal as he enters his house dressed in a smart suit, he greets his daughter and wife before entering into the loft space. He is not alone here however as he has three of his victims tied up and helpless, to find out what happens next you'll have to watch our movie;

In less than 24 hours of being online it received almost 300 views and also several reviews from respected writers and people in the field.

Ascension

Ascension Movie

The first project undertaken by VLM is the creation of a movie about a small group of survivors living in a post apocalyptic world. The project began with modest intentions, to be filmed by a group on friends on an almost non existent budget. Word of the movie spread quickly and soon, many more people came on board including cameraman Gary Rogers who recently provided footage for the short movie Bigger and Badder as well as a cast of experienced and upcoming actors. The project now has over 600 followers on Facebook and a growing audience on Twitter who have been helping the project gain momentum.
